"Remember in life, there are only two things to worry about, whether you are alive or dead. If you are alive, you have no worries." - Rachel Elnaugh
Greetings!
How positive is your energy right now?
The reason why I am asking you that question is it tells me how well your business is doing in 2010.
Great positive energy is becoming more and more a rare commodity as people all over the world get sucked into fear and negativity about the recent air crisis, who runs the country, unemployment, etc. Positive energy is highly infectious and refreshing.
It takes a huge amount of positive energy to run a business or lead an organisation. If you are in any way half hearted or lack commitment, the rest of 2010 will not be good for you.
Tip of the Month
'Ask problem staff to suggest their own solutions.'
Seven Top Tips to Raise Energy Levels Now
1. Cut back on Tea/Coffee
2. Drink two litres of water per day.
3. Pick one difficult task that you have been putting off and do it today.
4. Unpaid invoices can drain you. Even if you currently have no money in your account, write them out to send when the money flows.
5. Identify and get rid of anything or anyone that drains your energy.
6. Clear out your workspace today.
7. If you work from home and spend the day in a tracksuit, make an effort, put on a business suit, pick up the phone, call old customers and get new business.
Five Tips for Building a Strong Brand
1. Be consistent. Develop a reputation for great work.
2. Create more positive word of mouth about your company.
3. Learn to recognise when a business relationship is not working.
4. Honesty is key. Customers and clients will respect you.
5. Build trust. Customers and clients who trust you and are pleased with your products or services will generate business for you.
Four Tips for What Customers Really Want in 2010
1. Customer Service is all about the relationship. Make them feel special.
2. Reliability is key.
3. Attentions to detail is a must. (Know who in your team has this strength)
4. Be individual, create high standards.
Five Tips on How to Change the Office Environment and Boost Profits
1. Use great space planners to give you an office space that inspires your staff.
2. Create a family atmosphere within the workplace.
3. Implement a clean desk policy but plan it first.
4. When planning any changes to the office, involve staff and get their ideas first.
5. Create openness, space, light and maybe put photos depicting some of your current projects on the wall.
Book of the Month
'Business Nightmares' by Rachel Elnaugh - Star of BBC's Dragon's Den.
Four Tips from her Book
1. Focus on your customers, not your competitors.
2. Don't copy anyone else, instead innovate, innovate, innovate.
3. No matter how black your current outlook is, hold on to your dreams.
4. Not everyone will share your vision.
So for the rest of April, I encourage you to raise your energy levels, focus on your customers, let go of worry and know that you have made a difference.
It's possible!
Blessings
